A Sunny Day in Dublin!

Saturday September 10th saw our 11th annual Tag Rugby Tournament at Railway Union Sports Club in glorious sunshine. The tailwinds of hurricane Katia did manage to take out our gazebo but the forecast rain passed us over completely for an afternoon of very competitive play.

We had six excellent teams on Saturday - PwC, UBS, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, RBS and Pioneer Investments. It was a superb day of play which saw two new teams in the final this year - RBS played against HSBC. HSBC played fiercely but ultimately the RBS team won the trophy. Congratulations to all the players and particularly to the winning team RBS!

The sunshine held out and the wind died down allowing us to hold the barbeque and prize-giving outside this year. The ravenous players enjoyed their food and refreshments whilst sitting out on the grass. Sebastiano, Mauro & Andrew presented the prizes to the winners of each category...UBS took home the wooden spoon and Pioneer Investments took the wooden bowl. Congrats to man of the match Brian Boyle (HSBC) and lady of the match Pauline Ni Mhurchu (RBS).

Thank you to everyone to supported the Tournament now in its 11th consecutive year. We raised in excess of €20k and as Sebastiano noted on Saturday, all monies raised go directly to the essential work on the ground in Zimbabwe. The crisis there remains as urgent as ever. Sincere thanks to our team sponsors for their continued support: PwC, UBS, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, RBS and Pioneer Investments.
